HMW: Take the Workforce Mobile?

Overview

COMING SOON

This is Part 2 of a 18 year journey of Building an ERP. This is the Task Management Module.

The introduction of mobile into our workflow was a game changer.

With our mobile solution users were able to accurately track their hours, receive real-time project updates, and stay engaged on their tasks.

Process

reDiscovery

Substantial variances in labor hours beyond project scopes led us to a trend in increased manual entered times.

After conducting user interviews we identifed why so many manual entries were being created.

Not an oversight of process, it was gap in knowledge behind procedure.

Users were able to easily track their tasks and communicate with project managers, but walking back and forth to switch tasks at stationary workstation was tedious.

Task times were being tracked on paper and being to the project managers, who were then adding the times.

Going Mobile

The apps did technically work on mobile devices, they were not optimized and made for a subpar experience.

We leveraged Bootstraps framework and grid to shift to responsive layouts.

Outcome

Win, Win

Leveraging Bootstrap led us towards a much larger facelift than anticipated and paved the way towards establishing clearer design guidelines.

Users could now easily switch between tasks on-the-go, which improved the quality of their work, and stakeholders could now pinpoint irregularities and inefficiencies such as the Inventory.
